The Bowden Print Group has a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Framework system in place to ensure the sustainability of our workflows and processes to benefit our clients, the community and ourselves.
Life Cycle Perspective
To influence environmental performance beyond our own
For a manufacturing company, the significance of environmental awareness means not only responsibility regarding the ‘health’ of our environment, but also means transparency in the communication of the impacts its products have on the environment and the actions undertaken to reduce them… this transparency is the starting point for an eco-sustainable future.
Starting from 2019, the Bowden Print Group set an objective and target that is to consider environmental impacts in a Life Cycle Perspective (LCP), devoting specific attention to the manufacturing workflow, client education, innovative methods & techniques concerning Print, procurement and digital solutions, where possible, trying to:
- prefer secondary raw materials and compliant suppliers
- monitor energy consumption and, where feasible, favour sustainable energy choices
- carry out regular checks of legislative compliance
- monitor pollutants & waste production
- Implement a C02 analysis footprint
- Review the ‘design’ and ‘use’ of our products and services. *
* A review and recommendations to the design and use of our products and services are possible; however, the company does not currently handle the treatment and or retrieval of the product the company produces when it has been passed on to the client for their use.
Culture
The Bowden Print Group recognises the value of healthy staff and is committed to instil and sustain a healthy performance culture of continuous improvement.
The culture within our business plays a major role and the associated characteristics provide a strong foundation: purpose, opportunity, health & well being, appreciation, and leadership.
- Purpose connects our team to the Bowden Print Group’s reason for ‘being’ and the difference we can make in the world.
- The opportunity provides the team with resources to learn new skills, develop, and contribute.
- Health and well-being focus to improve the team’s physical, emotional, social and financial health.
- Success allows the team to innovate, do meaningful work, and achieve targets and objectives.
- Appreciation allows the Bowden Print Group to recognise employees’ outstanding work and unique contributions.
- Leadership connects the team to a sole purpose, empowers them to do great work, and creates a ‘team’ mentality.
Combined, these charteristics drive positive business outcomes from significant improvement in engagement and performance.
Community Engagement
Provide support to both local communities and to engage stakeholders in global based initiatives.
The Bowden Print Group engages with its stakeholders based on a set of guiding principles born out of its management philosophy and aims to address the concerns and meet the expectations of its stakeholders by delivering differentiated value. Our guiding principles for stakeholder engagement are applied to our workflow, with consideration to the social, cultural, and environmental aspects of our respective communities.
Risk Management
The Bowden Print Group’s Corporate Responsibility strategy addresses the need to ensure pre-emptive and proactive risk mitigation measures are in place.
All activities undertaken by The Bowden Print Group carry an element of risk but also provide opportunities. The exposure to these risks and implementation of opportunities is managed through the practice of our Risk & Opportunity Management. In managing Risk & Opportunity, it is the Company’s practice to take advantage of potential opportunities while managing potential adverse effects. Managing Risk & Opportunity is the responsibility of everyone in the Company.
Our policy outlines the Company’s Risk & Opportunity & Opportunity Management process and sets out the responsibilities of the Board, CEO, the Management Team and others within the Company about Risk & Opportunity & Opportunity Management.
Shared Value
The Bowden Print Group strives to create shared value throughout all its operations.
In recent times, corporate engagement in society has been viewed as a business cost, to be traded off against profitability. Increasingly, however, companies are realising that by creating shared value, they can benefit society and boost their competitiveness at the same time.
Creating Shared Value is fundamental to how we do business at the Bowden Print Group. We believe that our company will be successful in the long term by creating value for both our shareholders and for society. Our products and services should make a positive difference to society while contributing to the Bowden Print Group’s ongoing success.
Value creation is only possible with a solid foundation of compliance and a culture of respect, as well as a firm commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
We can not maximise long‑term sustainable value creation for shareholders at the expense of other stakeholders. We believe that societies will not support a business that harms our communities and overall sense of well‑being. Creating Shared Value helps ensure that we remain relevant with consumers.
